Current Student Maintenance - Entry bar

Use the Entry bar to view details of:

  • when a student first started at your organisation
  • their previous school or learning organisation
  • how they found out about your organisation.

 

 Opening the Entry bar

To open the Entry bar:

  1. Select Students > Student Maintenance from the SynWeb main menu.
    The Set Current Search Criteria window is displayed.
  2. Search for the student. See Searching for students.
    The first student's record is displayed on the Current Student Maintenance window. One bar is expanded depending on your last session or earlier selection.
  3. Scroll down to the Entry bar, if required.
  4. Click the Entry bar.

    Tip
    : You can click anywhere on the bar to open it.

Current Student Maintenance - Entry bar key fields and buttons

Entry area

Field

Description

Campus

Campus where the student started at your organisation.

Application Date

Date the application was received.

Enquiry Date

Date the first enquiry was received.

Year Level

Year level the student was enrolled in when they started at your organisation.

Entry Date

Date the student entered your organisation.
For NZ MOE roll returns, the Entry Date is used for the First Attendance date. This field is used in conjunction with the Leaving Date on the School bar to determine the number of students eligible to be counted on the roll return date. See Current Student Maintenance - School tab in the Synergetic Current students manual.

Initial Schooling Date

Date the student first attended any school.
For NZ MOE roll returns, the Initial Schooling Date is used for the First schooling date. This field is used to establish most students' funding year level. See Funding year levels in the Synergetic Roll returns manual.
If the first date at school is unknown, calculate the Initial Schooling Date as Date of Birth plus 6 years. This might occur when a student is a refugee or home schooled. For the student's Date of Birth, see Current Student Maintenance - Personal tab in the Synergetic Current students manual.

Pre Entry Comment

Comments before the student was accepted at your organisation. For example, special achievements of the student before entering.

Source of Enquiry

How the person making the enquiry became aware of your organisation.

Source of Enquiry Comment

Any notes or comments. For example 'Referred by the Smiths, who have three children currently at the school'.

Enquiry Campaign

Campaign that the enquiry is in response to.

Country of Application

Country that the application is received from, if different from your organisation's country. That is, overseas students.

Previous School

Student's previous school, if applicable.
For NZ MOE roll returns, this is the previous school attended by the student. The list of schools is supplied by the NZ MOE. This only applies to full-time and regular year 7 and year 9 students, specifically:

  • year 7 students at intermediate schools, restricted composite schools and secondary schools (year 7-15)
  • year 9 students at secondary schools (year 9-15).

Search Filter

The Search Filter field is located at the top of the Student Selector. This field can be used to filter students by any of the information displayed in the Student Selector.
For example to filter students by name simply type either the student's:

  • last name
  • first name
  • last name then first name separated by a comma.
    To filter students by year level simply type the student's year level in the Search Filter field.

Display the Current Student Maintenance Search Criteria window.
You can update the search criteria and search for new students. See Searching for students.
