Deleting current students

Deleting current students

If required, you can delete a current student in SynWeb. Deleting a student removes most of the information held about the student, such as contact details and scholarships. Although a community record still exists for the student after the deletion has taken place it is strongly recommended that you do not continue unless you want to erase all records about the student.

Note: If a student has left the school it is preferable to transfer them to past students rather than to delete the record. See Transferring current students to past students (Next Year Process) in the Synergetic Current students manual.

To remove a current student from the current student constituency and archive the student details:

  1. Run a search in find the student or students who you want to archive. See Searching for students.
The students that match your search criteria are displayed in the Current Student Selector window.
  2. Select the student record you want to delete.
  3. Click in the main toolbar.

The Confirm Delete window is displayed.
  4. Type the word DELETE in the confirmation field.
  5. Click .
    The following window is displayed.
  6. Click .
Note: If your school is a CEO school then you can only delete students if there are no charges raised against them.
