Description
The ShowCurrent setting is used to determine whether to display a current student's:

• age as at 1st January
• current age.

The Years and Months values are displayed on the Personal tab of Current Student Maintenance. See Current Student Maintenance - Personal tab in the Current students manual.
 

Default value
The default value is False.
This displays the student's age as at 1st January, in years and months.

The Age 1st Jan field was introduced as part of the electronic roll returns (eReturns) in New Zealand schools. It is useful for resolving errors because it is easy to calculate the student's date at the:

• 1st March roll return = Age 1st Jan + 3 months
• 1st July roll return = Age 1st Jan + 7 months.

Note: The actual roll return dates can vary from the start of the month by a few days, depending on the year.
 

Setting a different value
Select the Value field on the Configuration File Maintenance window to set it to True. See Maintaining configuration files.

This displays the students current age, in years and months.
