Staff Maintenance - Keys tab

The Keys tab allows you to keep track of all keys issued to staff members. Use the Keys tab to:

  • view the list of keys that the staff member holds
  • issue a new key to the staff member
  • log the date the staff member returned a key
  • launch into Keys Maintenance. See Maintaining keys.


 Opening the Keys tab

To open the Keys tab:

  1. Select Module > Human Resources > Staff Maintenance from the main menu.
    Tip: You can also access the staff functions by clicking .
  2. Search for the staff member. See Searching for staff members.
    The Personal tab of the Staff Maintenance window is displayed.
  3. Click the Keys tab.
    The Keys tab of the Staff Maintenance window is displayed.

Fields

Field

Description

Key Code

Select the key that is being issued.

Description

Description of the key that is issued.

Date Issued

Optionally select a date of issue.

Key Number

Provide the key's unique identification number (up to 15 characters).

Date Returned

Select the date the key was returned.

Comment

Any comment about the key issued.

Currently Issued Only

Select to only display keys that are currently issued to the staff member. Clear to display all keys ever issued to the staff member, including keys that have been returned.

Description

Launch into Keys Maintenance. See Maintaining keys.

Add a new line to the grid then issue a new key to the staff member.

Tip:
If you are adding a key for the first time for the staff member, you do not need to click Add. Just select the Key Code and the Date Issued. Click Add if you are adding another key.

Delete the highlighted key from the staff member's list.
