Using the Markbook Area Formula window
Use the Markbook Area Formula window to edit the formula used to calculate the results from your mark book. See New method of calculating and summarising assessment areas.
Markbook Area Formula window key fields and buttons
Fields
Field | Description |
---|---|
Area Heading | Descriptive heading for the mark book. |
Calculation Formula | Formula used for calculating student results, operating on assessment areas within the current subject assessment. See Subject Assessment Maintenance - Area tab - Formula sub-tab in the Assessments and Reports manual for further information on using the Calculation Formula. |
Result Type | Select the type of result. See luReportResultType lookup table in the System Maintenance manual. |
Weighting Factor | Value of the assessment in the student's final mark. For example an assignment marked out of 100 might be worth 25% of the student's overall mark. |
Mark Out Of | Highest possible score for the assessment. For example 100. |
Round to Decimal Places | Type a number to set the number of decimal places used for results. |
Decimal Places are Fixed | Select to always show decimal places (e.g. 88.0 and 88.5 rather than 88 and 88.5). |
Truncate instead of Round | Select to truncate rather than round decimal places (e.g. 3.578 becomes 3.57 rather than 3.58). |
Transfer to Assesssment Area Seq | Select another assessment area to push the calculation result to. |
