2024-11 - MACS Notes and Codes 2025

Education Horizons have recently completed updates for a set of changes requested by Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) as 'Notes and Codes 2025' affecting Victorian catholic schools.

These changes have been compiled into a hotfix package, to allow you to obtain the changes necessary for your 2025 MACS data submissions.


Note:  ICON schools are being updated centrally and do not need this patch.

Overview of changes included in this hotfix package

These changes have been made:

New School opening in 2025
E1426 Carlo Acutis Primary School, Wollert West, Melbourne Archdiocese
E4048 St Josephine Bakhita Catholic Primary School, Sale Diocese

Closed Schools
The following school closed at the end of Term 1, 2024
E1208 St Stephens, Reservoir, Melbourne Archdiocese

The following schools will close at the end of 2024
E1257 St Timothy's School, Vermont, Melbourne Archdiocese
E1291 Holy Saviour Parish School, Vermont South, Melbourne Archdiocese

These two schools’ enrolments are amalgamated into the new Junior Campus for E1214 Emmaus College.
E3036 St Patrick's School, Pyramid Hill, Sandhurst Diocese

2032 Emmaus Parish Brighton, Brighton East & Gardenvale was formed with the amalgamation of St Joan of Arcs Brighton (2032), St Finbar’s Brighton East (2033) and St James Brighton (Gardenvale) (2089)

2197 The Parish of the Holy Spirit and St Francis, Sandringham, Hampton and Hampton East was formed from the amalgamation of St Mary’s Hampton (2105), Immaculate Heart Hampton East (2106) and Sacred Heart Sandringham (2197)

2113 Christ Our Light Parish was formed with the amalgamation of Our Lady of the Assumption Cheltenham (2050) and St Agnes Highett (2113)

Obtaining and applying the hotfix


We have created a hotfix patch to provide you with the relevant updates


1) Download the zip file to your system from the link below:

2) Open the zip file and extract the included exe file to your SQL server (or to a location that is able to communicate with the SQL Server)

3) Run the hotfix exe program - this will run a database patcher wizard which will take you through the steps to apply the database logic changes for this report.

4) Once the patcher has completed successfully, both the reference and lookup data in your system will be updated.

5) New rows will be able to be loaded into your lookup tables for use in your MACS data submissions.  For each Lookup table you wish to add any new rows to, hit the LOAD button in lookup table maintenance and select the CEOVIC code.

6) You will not need to update any existing rows in your lookup tables that were changed by MACS.  eg description changes, or rows made inactive etc.
