WA SCSA RSCOT Solution Available

A Synergetic solution for the WA SCSA RSCOT submission requirement is now available from this page via a zip file download.

Background - WA SCSA RSCOT

WA SCSA have defined a new SIRS  submission file, effective from May 2023.  This is the RSCOT file for reporting Common Oral Assessment Tasks (COAT) marks.  In addition  to basic student demographic and enrolment detail this file reports marks for:

  • COAT Criterion 1 - 4 and
  • Absent Y/N.

The above page includes detail on how to configure Synergetic to report COAT Criterion 1 - 4 and Absent Y/N. You will need to:

  • load the CCWACOAT curriculum framework into Synergetic
  • load the CCWACOAT result types into Synergetic
  • link the CCWACOAT learning areas to subject assessments.

Obtaining and applying the hotfix

We have created a Synergetic solution fix consisting of a Patcher and an executable file.   These are downloadable via the .zip file below.

1) Download the fix files from the links below :

2) Open the zip file and extract the file.

  • Place the database patcher file onto your SQL server (or to a location that is able to communicate with the SQL Server)

3) Place the StuXie.exe file into your Synergetic application folder (the SynMain location when looking at Help → About within Synergetic)

4) Run the database patcher exe program - this will run a database patcher wizard which will take you through the steps to apply the database logic changes for this report.

5) Once the patcher has completed successfully, your system should be updated and have the facility to produce the RSCOT file.

6) Prior to producing the file you will need to configure your system as per the above link and record the student marks against COAT Criteria Subject Assessments.

7) When you run the Student Import/Export program, Synergetic will detect the new executable and ask if it is to be run.  When creating the RSCOT file answer yes.
