2024-01 - Community Portal Manage Stored Cards Incident

Issue (applicable for Synergetic version 71.10 only)

This issue is relevant for schools using Online Payments with NAB Transact, and is especially critical for schools offering school administered Payment Plans.

When a Community Portal user logs in to the Community Portal and navigates to Manage stored cards screen, the stored payment methods are not being displayed. This prevents the user from selecting a new default payment method for Payment Plans, or updating their payment method details. This also occurs when impersonating debtors via the “Edit Debtor” or “Edit Owner” button in Debtor Maintenance.

If you are experiencing issues with Managed Stored Cards and you are not on version 71.10, please ensure you are using the “Edit Owner” button to impersonate the owner of the activated payment method. Community Portal will only display payment methods owned by the Community Member who is logged in (i.e. a spouse cannot see the primary debtor’s card details and vice versa).

This issue impacts Synergetic Version v71.10 only. Schools not using Community Portal or Online Payments will not be affected, but we recommend installing all patches as they become available.

The fix for this issue will also be included in version 71.11, and all future versions of Synergetic.

Fix

  1. Download the fix from the link below

  2. Save to a location of your choosing, that you can access from your SQL Server

  3. Open and run the patcher

    • Open the zip file and extract the included exe file to your SQL server (or to a location that can communicate with the SQL Server)

    • Run the exe - this will run a database patcher wizard which will take you through the steps to apply the fix to the database

    • The patcher can be applied with users remaining logged in to the system, and will only take seconds to run
