2024-02 - MACS Notes and Codes 2024

Education Horizons have recently completed updates for a set of changes requested by Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) as 'Notes and Codes 2024' affecting Victorian catholic schools.

These changes have been compiled into a hotfix package, to allow you to obtain the changes necessary for your 2024 MACS data submissions.


Note:  ICON schools are being updated centrally and do not need this patch.

E1318 St Francis Catholic College Melton new campus at Cobblebank opened in 2023.
E1377 Marymede Catholic College South Morang, Doreen campus opening 2024
E3017 St Joseph's College Echuca, Kildare campus opened in 2023.

Parish Changes

Melbourne Archdiocese
2187 Parish of St Gabriel and St Stephen of Hungary Reservoir - Reservoir East was formed as a result of the amalgamation of St Gabriel's Reservoir (2187) and St Stephen's Reservoir East (2188)
2816 Parish of The Risen Christ Montmorency and Eltham was formed as a result of the amalgamation of Our Lady Help of Christians Parish Eltham (2073) and St Francis Xavier Parish Montmorency (2155)

Ballarat Diocese
2822 Parish of Saints Anne and Joachim Sunraysia was formed as a result of the amalgamation of Merbein (2429), Mildura (2430) and Red Cliffs (2439).
2823 Holy Spirit Parish Gariwerd was formed as a result of the amalgamation of Stawell (2445) and Ararat
2885 Our Lady of Mercy Parish Hampden was formed as a result of the amalgamation of St Colman's and St Thomas the Apostle Terang (2447)


Sandhurst Diocese
2615 St Mary's Golden Square has been amended and is now 2615 St Monica's Kangaroo Flat/Golden Square

Obtaining and applying the hotfix


We have created a single combined hotfix patch to provide you with the relevant updates


1) Download the zip file to your system from the link below:


2) Open the zip file and extract the included exe file to your SQL server (or to a location that is able to communicate with the SQL Server)

3) Run the hotfix exe program - this will run a database patcher wizard which will take you through the steps to apply the database logic changes for this report.

4) Once the patcher has completed successfully, the reference data in your system will be updated and new rows able to be loaded into your lookup tables for use in your MACS data submissions.

5) For each Lookup table you wish to update hit the LOAD button in lookup table maintenance and select the CEOVIC code.

6) You will need to update any existing rows in your lookup tables that were changed by MACS.  eg description changes, or rows made inactive etc.
