DefaultAttendedMode

Description
The DefaultAttendedMode setting is used to determine the initial condition of the Attended field on the Attendance window. See Attendance window in the Attendance and absence events manual.

Default value
The default value is B. The Attended field is initially set to blank for all students.

The person marking the attendances can:

  • mark individual students as present or absent
  • submit and confirm the unmarked students as being present.

This setting needs to remain set as B in New Zealand schools, as it is a NZMOE requirement that the student attendances are initially unmarked.

Setting a different value
Two additional values are available:

  • P. Students are initially marked as being present.

  • N. Students are initially marked as being not present.

Update the Value field on the Configuration File Maintenance window. See Maintaining configuration files.

The person marking the attendances can then mark the students accordingly. For example, if all students are marked as being present initially, then the absent students are marked as not being present.
