ModifyAttendancePromptReasonFlag configuration setting

Description
The ModifyAttendancePromptReasonFlag setting is used to determine whether a reason is required if an attendance record is changed on the Attendance window.
See Attendance window in the Attendance and absence events manual.
 

Default value
The default value is:

• True in New Zealand schools
• False in other organisations.

In the following example, a student at a New Zealand school was earlier marked present but this was later found to be incorrect. When the user changes the attendance record, the Modify Attendance Reason window is displayed.
This is required so that the reasons for changing records can be reviewed by NZMOE auditors.

 

Setting a different value
Either select or clear the Value field on the Configuration File Maintenance window to set the value. See Maintaining configuration files.
To set the value to:

• False, clear the Value field
• True, select the Value field.

This setting needs to remain set as True in New Zealand schools, as it is a NZMOE requirement that a user must supply a reason when they change a class attendance record.
