Configuring a standard five-point performance report

Victorian organisations are required to report student academic performance using a standard five-point performance report. In this guide we'll show you how to configure this report by:

  • configuring the report style
  • configuring custom report headings for each column of the report
  • provide two options for configuring the five-point report
  • show you how to print the five-point report.



1. Configuring the report style

To configure the report style:

  1. Select Module > System > Lookup Tables Maintenance.
    The Lookup Table Maintenance window is displayed.
  2. Select the luReportStyle lookup table. See luReportStyle lookup table.
    The luReportStyle lookup table is displayed.

  3. Click .
  4. Type AssessmentRep5PS into the Code field.
  5. Type a description into the Description field. For example, Assessment Report 5.
  6. Type vStudentReportsSemesterResults into the PrintOverrideViewName field.

    Note: The view name must be correct.

  7. Ensure the ActiveFlag field is selected.
  8. Click .

2. Configuring the result headings

You can define five column headings to indicate the level of student performance. Either enter your own custom headings or use the standard column headings listed in this section.

To configure the result headings:

  1. Select Module > System > Lookup Tables Maintenance.
    The Lookup Table Maintenance window is displayed.
  2. Select the luReportResultType lookup table. See luReportResultType lookup table.
    The luReportResultType lookup table is displayed.
  3. Click .
  4. Type 5POINTSCALE into the Code column.
  5. Type 5POINTSCALE into the Description column.
  6. Type the column headings for the report into the Mask column.

    Note: The format is ,Heading1,Heading2,Heading3,Heading4,Heading5.

    Note: The standard column headings are ,Well Below Standard,Above Standard,At Standard,Above Standard,Well Above Standard.

  7. Ensure the ActiveFlag field is selected.
  8. Click .

3. Configuring the five-point report

The five-point performance report can be configured for individual year levels or subject assessments.

Option 1: Configuration for individual year levels

To configure the five-point report for individual year levels:

  1. Select Module > System > Lookup Tables Maintenance.
    The Lookup Table Maintenance window is displayed.
  2. Select the luYearLevelStudentReportsExtra lookup table. See luYearLevelStudentReportsExtra lookup table.
  3. Click .
  4. Type the campus code into the Campus field. For example, S.
  5. Type the year level into the Code field. For example, 11.
  6. Type a print sequence number into the PrintSeq field.

    Note: The print sequence number determines the order of the report on the Student Reports Print window. Reports with lower numbers are ordered first.

  7. Select the five point report using the ReportCode drop-down list.

    Note: The report has the description entered in section 1.

  8. Type a description into the Description field. For example, Assessment Report 5.
  9. Fill in the remaining fields, as required.
  10. Ensure the ActiveFlag field is selected.
  11. Click .

Option 2: Configuration for individual subject assessments

To configure the five-point report for individual subject assessments: 

  1. Select Module > System > Lookup Tables Maintenance.
    The Lookup Table Maintenance window is displayed.
  2. Select the luReportResultGroup lookup table. See luReportResultGroup lookup table.
  3. Click .
  4. Type 5POINT into the Code field.
  5. Type 5 Point Scale into the Description field.
  6. Ensure the ActiveFlag field is selected.
  7. Click .
  8. Select Module > Assessments or Students, then Subject Assessment Area Maintenance.
    The Set Subject Assessment Search Criteria window is displayed.
  9. Update the search criteria to display the subject assessments to be configured.
  10. Click .
  11. Select an assessment code in the Subject Assessment Selector window.
  12. Click the Summary tab.
  13. Select AssessmentRptRep5PS using the Report Style drop-down list.
  14. Click the Area tab.
  15. Select File > New from the Main menu.
    The Create New Subject Assessment - Subject Assessment Area window is displayed.
  16. Select 5 Point Scale using the Result Group drop-down list.
  17. Select 5POINTSCALE using the Result Type drop-down list.
  18. Type a description of the assessment into the Heading field.
  19. Click .
  20. Repeat steps 13 through 17 to configure additional five-point assessments for the current class.

4. Printing five-point performance reports

Reports are printed using the Print Student Reports window. See Printing student reports.
