luReportStyle lookup table

Description

The luReportStyle lookup table is used to:

  • Set the field width and character styles used (font and so on) when teachers enter:
    • comments
    • topic comments, in Student Results Maintenance in Synergetic.
  • Set restrictions about the number of characters, lines and words entered.
  • Determine whether to:
    • allow printing of individual classes
    • control the printing of individual classes based on a tutor group.
  • Define the list of Crystal Reports that assessment codes are linked to for different report output styles.
  • Determine whether the Crystal Report is responsible for its own grouping of the classes.

The report style is used in the Report Style field on the Summary sub-tab of Subject Assessment Maintenance. See Subject Assessment Maintenance - Summary tab - Summary sub-tab in the Assessments and reports manual. For example, results for the two German A classes (GEEA1 and GEEA2) are entered based on the A5 Style set for the German A subject assessment.

See Subject Assessment Maintenance - Summary tab - Summary sub-tab in the Assessments and reports manual.

CommentWidthMM

Width of the comment box in Student Results Maintenance. This affects how the comments are formatted on the report.

For example, an A5 piece of paper is 148 mm wide. The value for the A5 Style is 125 mm; which fits neatly when printed on A5 paper.

By contrast, the CommentWidthMM field has been set to 50 in the following example. The box is narrower than the example above.

Also applies to TopicCommentWidthMM.

Note: We recommend this field is set to match the settings of the relevant Crystal Reports, so that teachers entering comments can see how they will look when printed.

CommentFontName

Font style used when entering comments. Arial is used when no style is specified.

Note: If you specify a non-standard font, you need to make sure that it is installed on your PC.

Also applies to TopicCommentFontName.

Note: We recommend this field is set to match the settings of the relevant Crystal Reports, so that teachers entering comments can see how they will look when printed.

CommentFontPointSize

In the following example, the font is 10 point.

By contrast, the point size has been set to 8 in the following example. It is also bold and italicised, as detailed later.

Tip: Specify a point size that most parents can read. In the example above, 8 is probably too small for most people to read comfortably.

Also applies to TopicCommentFontPointSize.

Note: We recommend this field is set to match the settings of the relevant Crystal Reports, so that teachers entering comments can see how they will look when printed.

In the following example, an error message is displayed because the limit has been exceeded. The comments have to be adjusted before the student results can be saved.

The default value is 0 (zero) which places no restrictions on the teacher's comments.

Also applies to TopicCommentLines.

If cleared, this code can be used as a grouping or reference code in advanced combined Crystal Reports.

Warning: Take care when changing existing settings. If in doubt speak to your Crystal Reports specialist.
