Use the Summary sub-tab to maintain the overall description and the reporting details needed to format student reports for the selected subject.

Fields
Field | Description |
---|---|
Heading | Subject heading. |
Overview | Description of the subject aims. Tip: Click Spell Check to perform a spell check on the Overview field or any text field that has the focus. |
Unit Name | Unit that the subject is part of, if applicable. For example, Aboriginal History, Early Settlement and Australia in the 20th Century form part of the Year 8 History subject. |
Overall Comments Used | Select if overall comments are used on the student report. This enables the Comments box in the Student Results Maintenance window. See Maintaining student results. |
Topic Comments Used | Select if topic comments are used on the student report. Teachers are able to see the topic comments button in Student Results Maintenance, and can view or edit topic comments when they right click in the appropriate assessment area cell. |
Print Selectable for Result | Allows users to select/deselect individual results for printing within a class report. |
Result Dates Used | Select to include result dates in the report by enabling the Date column in the Single Student Result grid of the Student Results Maintenance window. Use when an assessment area is date-based. For example, assessments are issued on a specified completion date. |
Short Course | Select if the subject is run as a short course. |
Show Result Classification | Select to enter result classifications against the student's results on the Single Student tab of Student Results Maintenance. See Student Results Maintenance - Single Student tab. The result classification is used in:
Clear this field to remove the Classification field from the Single Student tab for the assessment. The classifications are maintained in the luReportResultClassification lookup table. See luReportResultClassification lookup table in the System maintenance manual. Note: Also see the Default Result Classification field on the Subject Assessment Maintenance - Area tab - Area sub-tab. |
Progressive Learning Classes | Select to allow results to be transferred from one reporting period to the next. For example, when your organisation uses outcome based reporting. |
Show Markbook Results in Portal | Select to allow relevant student results from the Markbook tab of Student Results Maintenance to be displayed in the Community Portal. See Student Results Maintenance - Mark Book tab. |
Report Style | Style of the Crystal Report (Academic report template). You can use your own custom report styles, provided you have set them up in the luReportStyle lookup table. See luReportStyle lookup table in the System maintenance manual. |
Override Report Sort Order | Select to override the order of reports when printed. Note: Zero means that the sort order is not overridden. |
Override Comment: | Will override the number of lines, words or characters in the comment based on the report style. Note: Zero means that the default is not overridden. Note: Set the defaults in the luReportStyle lookup table. See luReportStyle lookup table in the System maintenance manual. |
Override Topic Comment: | Will override the number of lines, words or characters in the topic comment based on the report style. Note: Zero means that the default is not overridden. |
Result Calculation Stored Proc | Select a stored calculation procedure from the drop-down list. The default procedure is spuStudentResultsCalcMain. This is needed if a result is calculated from several subject assessment areas. See also Linking subject assessment results for calculation. |
Call Calculation Proc BEFORE processing Formula | Call the result calculation stored procedure, selected in the Result Calculation Stored Proc field, before processing any formulas. This allows you to use the traditional method of summarising results for assessment areas using the Summarise to Seq field on the Area sub-tab. See Traditional method of summarising and linking assessment areas. Synergetic will first summarise the results (as described above) then apply any formulas afterwards. The formulas are defined on the Formula sub-tab. See New method of calculating and summarising assessment areas. |
Prior Year Campus / Prior Year Assessment Code | Use to set links to prior year assessment codes, if you have a situation where one assessment from one year:

Next Year Campus / Next Year Assessment Code | Use to set links to next year assessment codes, if you have a situation where multiple assessments from one year merge into one assessment in the next year. For example, you may have two assessments in 2013. For each one you can specify the Next Year Campus and Next Year Assessment Code in 2014. |
