Student Results Maintenance - Single Student tab

You can use either the Single Student tab or the All Students tab to maintain assessment results for individual students in your class.
The tab you use is determined by your individual preference:

Note: If the results have been exported from the network version of Synergetic, you can only work on them after you re-import them or unlock the class. See Unlocking exported classes.

Note:
Results maintenance checks the Rprts Prntd and Athr Stppd fields in the Year Level area in File Semester Maintenance. This allows the owner to lock out results for a single year level without affecting other levels. See Student File Semester Maintenance - File Semester tab in the Curriculum manual.

To open the Single Student tab:

  1. Select Module > Assessments, then Student Results Maintenance.

Results grid area fields

The results can be entered for the selected student. In the following example, Angelo Adamski's results for his German A class have been entered and the calculations have been run.

Field

Description

Result

Result entered for the subject assessment area. For example, 50 for the Oral Exam.

Greyed out results are either calculated results or have been set to read only by the curriculum coordinator. In the example above, the Assignments and Ranking results are calculated results.

Note: A small red triangle in the corner indicates that a topic comment is included for the area, as seen in the example.

This is more relevant on the All Students and Assessment tabs as the topic comment is not displayed by default.

Note: Organisations using the Victorian Curriculum framework can select the Did Not Participate (DNP) result when students are unable to complete an assessment. When this option is selected you must select a result classification to indicate why the student could not complete the assessment. See the Classification field below.

Print

Select if this assessment is to appear on the student's report.

Note: You can determine whether this field is displayed using the Print Selectable for Result field on the Summary sub-tab of the Summary tab of Subject Assessment Maintenance. See Subject Assessment Maintenance - Summary tab - Summary sub-tab.

Classification

Select the result classification, if enabled for the subject assessment.

The result classification is used in:

  • Australian organisations to indicate students whose results are not comparable to other students in the class, such as students in a modified program

  • New Zealand schools to withdraw students from an NCEA standard.

  • organisations using the Victorian Curriculum to indicate the reason why students given the (DNP) Did Not Participate result are unable to complete the selected assessment.

Note: You must enter a result classification when a student is given the (DNP) Did Not Participate result.
