Creating topic comments for student assessment areas

Some assessment areas also require the entry of a comment rather than just a result. These are usually indicated by a Comment result type.
You can enter topic comments for a student using either the:

  • All Students tab
  • Single Student tab.


All Students tab

To enter a topic comment against a student's assessment area using the All Students tab of the Student Results Maintenance window:

  1. Open the All Students tab of Student Results Maintenance window. See Student Results Maintenance - All Students tab.
  2. Select the student.
  3. Either:
    • Click to the right of screen.
    ��� Right click the assessment area and select Edit/View Topic Comment from the menu.

    The Topic Comment window is displayed.
  4. Type the comments for the subject assessment area.


    Tip:
    Spell check topic comments as you enter them, as any spelling mistakes may not be picked up during an overall spell check. See Checking spelling in comments for a student.

  5. Click .
    A red tag is displayed at the top right of the grid cell for the student's subject assessment area that contains a topic comment. 

Single Student tab

To enter a topic comment against a student's assessment area using the Single Student tab of the Student Results Maintenance window:

  1. Open the Single Student tab of Student Results Maintenance window. See Student Results Maintenance - Single Student tab.
  2. Select the student and the subject area to add the comment against.



  3. Either:
    • Right click the assessment area and select Edit/View Topic Comment.
    • Click to the right of screen.
    The Topic Comment window is displayed for the subject assessment area.



    Tip: The Topic Comment window is displayed automatically if you press any key while positioned in the Topic Comment field for the selected subject assessment area.
  4. Type the comments.

  5. Click .
    A red tag is displayed at the top right of the grid cell for the student's subject assessment area that contains a topic comment. Some of the comments can be seen in the Topic Comment column (field).
