Entering overall comments
Overall comments are normally printed at the end of student reports. You can enter overall comments for a student's subject assessment using either the:
- Single window
- Class window of Results Maintenance.
To enter overall comments against a student's subject assessment:
- Open the Single window of Results Maintenance. See Results Maintenance - Single window.
Tip: You can also enter overall comments for multiple students on the Class window. See Results Maintenance - Class window.
- Select the student.
The student's results are displayed.
Tip: Scroll down to the Overall Comment field, if required. - If the overall comments are not displayed, select Show Overall Comments on the Results Entry Filter Criteria window. See Using the Results Maintenance filter. Either the:
• The Single window is redisplayed, with the Overall Comment field displayed below the topic comments.
• The Classes window is redisplayed, with each Overall Comment field displayed below the row of topic comments for each student. - Enter the Overall Comment. You can:
• type the comment into the Overall Comment field
Tip: You can use the question mark character (?) instead of typing out the student's name; SynWeb automatically inserts the preferred name.
• click to paste in a comment copied from another comment field earlier
• click to select a comment from the comment bank.
The Comment Bank window is displayed. Locate and select the required comment, then click .
The Overall Comment field is updated with the selection from the Comment Bank window.
Note: The maximum number of characters, that fits neatly on the student report, depends on your settings in the lookup table luReportStyle. A warning message is displayed if you enter more than the maximum number of characters.
- Click .
The following window is displayed if the spell check has been set to check automatically. - Correct any spelling mistakes. See Checking the spelling of comments.
- Click when the spell check is completed.
The Single window of Results Maintenance is redisplayed.
Tip: The Overall Comment can also be seen if you navigate to the Class window.
