Defining an instalment fee

Defining an instalment fee

You can implement instalment charges for any type of fee.

Tuition fees are generally either charged in full or in instalments. We recommend that you only use one system to keep the billing simple. If your organisation uses both, set up a Tuition Variation for students who pay in instalments or in full.

To define an instalment fee:

  1. Select Module > Debtors > Fee Maintenance. See Maintaining debtor fees.

    Tip:
You can also access the debtor functions by clicking .

  2. Select or create the fee.
  3. On the General tab, select Use Instalments.

The total charge is split into the default number of instalments you set on the Debtors tab of Synergetic Financial Configuration. See Synergetic Financial Configuration - Debtors tab in the Finance manual.

These charges are automatically applied by the system when you run Debtor Instalment Charges. See Applying instalment charges
