Classification

Description
The Document:Classification configuration setting determines the default document classification that is assigned to documents when:

  • a document is created using DocMan
  • sending emails.

You can override the default classification by selecting Override System Default and choosing a new classification on the Preferences tab of the Preferences window. See Setting up Synergetic the way you want in the Introduction manual.

Note: Document classifications are defined in the luDocumentClassification lookup table. See luDocumentClassification lookup table.

Default value
The default value is External. That is, when sending emails or importing documents the document classification defaults to External.

Setting a different value
Set the Value field on the Configuration File Maintenance window to a valid Code from the luDocumentClassification lookup table. See Maintaining configuration files and luDocumentClassification lookup table.

!! Important Note:

It is recommended to use a blank classification code for the global setting and set individual defaults for users. This avoids potential for all users to import documents with the same classification code without changing it based on the individual security requirements for their department or type of document loaded.
