Database synonyms

Synonyms are database objects used by Synergetic to preserve third-party integrations such as Crystal reports and MS Query queries by referring pre-68 databases to the single database.

For example, an MSQuery with a reference to the table of SynergyOneFinance.debtors will continue to work after the single database migration because it is referred to finance.debtors by a synonym.

Note: Synonyms are only created for organisations migrating from Version 67.

Note: Synergetic recommends that any new direct queries to the database are created with the reference to the new database structure (using dbo, finance, media) for the schemas instead of the database names.
