Award Maintenance - General tab

Use the Award Maintenance - General tab to:

  • create and maintain levels for awards
  • maintain pay codes for award levels.

Pay codes integrate job positions with the Payroll module so that staff salaries are automatically updated when the staff attain new job positions or award levels.

 Opening the General tab

To open the General tab:

  1. Select Module > Human Resources > Award Maintenance from the main menu.
    The General tab of the Award Maintenance window is displayed.

Code

Unique code identifying the award.

Description

Description of the award.

Select the first record.

Select the previous record.

Select the next record.

Select the last record.

Note: At this point, Synergetic only supports creating awards through the Payroll Configuration window. See Payroll Configuration - Leave Awards tab in the Payroll manual.



Award Levels area fields and buttons

Active

If selected, this award is active.

Grid area fields

Description

Award Level

Code to identify the award level.

Note:
The progression of award levels is controlled by their order in the grid. You do not have to name them sequentially.

Description

Description of the award level. For example Teaching Level 1.

Duration Months

Number of months before the award should be increased to the next level. A duration of 0 uses the default duration of 12 months.

Note:
You can control whether a job position uses the Duration Months in Job Position Maintenance. See Job Position Maintenance - General tab.

Active

If selected, this award level is active.

Buttons

Description

Add another award level.

Note:
Make sure you click
before switching to another award or changes will not be saved.

Delete the currently selected award level.

Move the currently selected award level up in the award level order.

Move the currently selected award level down in the award level order.


Pay Codes area fields and buttons

PayCode

Pay code assigned to the award level.

Description

Pay code's description.

Pay Amount

Pay rate amount of the pay code (if applicable).

Pay Rate

Pay rate of the pay code (if applicable).

Buttons

Description

Launch Payroll Pay Code Maintenance for the selected pay code. See Payroll Code Maintenance - General tab in the Payroll manual.

Add another pay code to the award level.

Note:
Make sure you click
before switching to another award, award level or pay code, or changes will not be saved.

Delete the currently selected pay code.

Move the currently selected pay code up in the award level order.

Move the currently selected pay code down in the award level order.
