Configuration
Configurable gender is a major system-wide enhancement that allows schools to configure multiple genders to represent the multitude of gender identities in their school communities.
First, schools need to configure Synergetic for gender by using:
- luGender lookup table to define new configurable genders. See luGender lookup table (Gender).
- luRelationship lookup table to define relationships for other-gendered community members. See luRelationship lookup table (Gender).
- luNextYearLevel lookup table to define Next Year Levels for Other Genders. See luYearLevel lookup table
- Interface Settings to map all configured local Genders to the gender values defined by external organisations. See
- SynWeb - Using the Interface Settings window
- Syn Main - Using the Interface Settings window
Gender Based Actions
Once this information is configured, schools can:
- Select configurable gender values using the Gender drop-down list. See Configurable gender values.
- Select configurable gender relationships. See Configurable gender relationships.
- Set up Next Year Level for Other Genders. See luYearLevelGroup lookup table
- Process Next Year Level for Other Genders. See luYearLevel lookup table (Next Year Process)
- Interface with external systems using configurable gender values. See Interfacing with external systems using configurable gender values.
- Import and export student data with configurable gender values. See Importing and exporting configurable gender values.
- View configurable gender data on Power BI Dashboards. See Viewing configurable gender data on Power BI dashboards.
- Rank applications using configurable gender. See Ranking applications using configurable gender.
- Copy and paste configurable gender pronouns between result comments. See Copying and pasting gendered terms in result comments.
- Export superannuation details with configurable gender values. See Configurable gender support for superannuation exports.
- Create next term details for students of all genders. See Creating next term details using configurable gender values.
- Run Crystal and SSRS reports that have been updated to support configurable gender. See Crystal and SSRS reports updated to support configurable gender.
- Configure the column order of Look Up tables. See FieldOrderCSV configuration setting.
Investigation
This query will assist in investigating Interface Settings issues, as it returns the Gender related values in the xsys tables:
