Disabling SMB1 network share protocol to improve security
SMBv1 has been reported to have significant security vulnerabilities and has been suggested to disable it in preference for SMBv2/v3.
It should be ok to disable SMB1 protocol on Synergetic servers for the network shares as long as the workstations that are connecting to them have also been updated to use a newer SMB protocol. Microsoft has a great how-to document which provides some simple PowerShell commands to detect / disable / enable the SMB protocols.
