Before completing this process, you need to installing the Syn Service Suite for VSN. See Installing the Syn Service Suite for VSN.

• Configuring VSN configuration settings
• Starting the Synergetic Service (Suite).

To configure VSN configuration settings:

1. Open Synergetic.
2. Select Module > System > Configuration File Maintenance from the Main menu.
   The Configuration File Maintenance window is displayed.
3. Search for VSN using the Find field.
   The VSN configuration settings are displayed.
   
4. Select the ProviderID configuration setting.
5. Populate the VSN provider ID of the client into the Value field.
   This can be provided on request by contacting VSR.
6. Select the WebServiceUserID configuration setting. See WebServiceUserID configuration setting.
7. Populate the VSN provider ID of the client into the Key 4 field.
8. Populate the VSN web service user ID of the client into the Value field.
9. Select the WebServicePassword configuration setting. See WebServicePassword configuration setting.
10. Populate the VSN provider ID of the client into the Key 4 field.
11. Populate the VSN web service password of the client into the Value field.
12. Select the RequestLastSeqNumber configuration setting. 
13. Populate the last batch sequence number into the Value field.
    
    Note: Schools can determine the last batch sequence number by logging into the Department of Education and TraIning (VSR) website and completing the following steps:
    https://www.eduweb.vic.gov.au/VSRWebSite (web service credentials as per above)
    
    1. Select Batch Management > Batch Search from the menu.
    The Batch Search window is displayed.
    2. Update the search criteria, if necessary.
    3. Click Find.
    The search results are displayed.
    4. Check the latest batch sequence number listed in the Batch ID column.
