Configuring HTML

You can use the HTML Editor sub-tab to edit the HTML displayed on each page of the Community Portal.

To open the HTML Editor sub-tab:

  1. Log in as a portal administrator. That is, listed as an admin user in the Community Portal XML file.

    Tip
    : Admin user logins are separated by commas between the <AdminUserNames></AdminUserNames> tags in the XML configuration file. See Editing the SynCommPortal.xml configuration file.
     
  2. Click Configuration in the Admin panel.

    The Main Menu Configuration Tool window is displayed.
  3. Click the HTML Editor sub-tab.
    The HTML Editor sub-tab is displayed.

Fields

Field

Description

Page

Select a page from the drop-down list to edit the HTML displayed on the page in the Community Portal.

Comments

Comments about the page HTML.

CDA Comments

Comments about the selected page including:

  • available replaceable fields
  • where the page is displayed.

Editor

Content of the page selected in the Page field. You can add:

  • formatted text including lists
  • hyperlinks
  • tables
  • graphics.

    Tip: Click to display the editor in full screen mode.

Buttons

Button

Description

Click to save changes to the HTML.

Undo any changes and revert to the last saved design.

Click to switch the editor to the Design view, which lets you see the HTML in a format similar to Microsoft Word.

Click to switch the editor to the HTML view, which lets you see the content as HTML code.

Click to switch the editor to the Preview view, which shows you how the page is displayed to Community Portal users.
