GST rules implemented in Synergetic
GST rules implemented in Synergetic
The following rules apply when implementing Synergetic in Australia and New Zealand:
- If a transaction has a tax code it will appear on the BAS, except tax code N.
- The tax code loaded on the general ledger account is the default on all transactions but can be changed at entry time.
- No payroll sourced transaction will have a tax code.
- If a transaction is allocated to a general ledger code which has a classification of INCOME it will appear as a Supply on the BAS.
- If a transaction is allocated to a general ledger code that has a classification of EXPENSE it will appear as an Acquisition on the BAS.
- If a transaction is allocated to a general ledger code that has neither a classification of INCOME or EXPENSE and the transaction is debtor sourced, it will appear as Supply on the BAS.
- If a transaction is allocated to a general ledger code that has neither a classification of INCOME or EXPENSE and the transaction is creditor sourced, it will appear as Acquisition on the BAS.
- Only define a classification of INCOME on the general ledger account if it must only appear as a Supply on the BAS.
- Only define a classification of EXPENSE on the general ledger account if it must only appear as an Acquisition on the BAS.
- If a transaction is allocated to a general ledger code which has a classification with a Synergy Meaning of ASSET and the transaction is creditors sourced it will appear as an Asset Acquisition on the BAS.
- In General Ledger Journals you can change the:
• classification code
• tax code. - Only transactions without a tax implication can be posted prior to the last BAS date / period.
For example, transactions with a tax code of N (Not on BAS).
