Creating parent teacher interview sessions
To create a new parent teacher interview session:
- Either:
• Add a parent teacher interview cycle. See Creating parent teacher interview cycles.
• Click on the Sessions tab of the Parent Interview Maintenance window, if the cycle already exists. See Parent Teacher Interview Maintenance - Sessions tab.
The Parent Teacher Interview Sessions window is displayed. - Enter the required information about the parent teacher interview session.
Parent Teacher Interview Sessions window key fields
Session Details area fields
Field | Description |
---|---|
Session Date | Date the session is scheduled. |
Campus | Campus for which the parent teacher interviews are being scheduled. |
From Year Level | Starting year level of the range of year levels covered by the interviews. |
To Year Level | Ending year level of the range of year levels covered by the interviews. This field defaults to the From Year Level value, if sessions only cover one year level. |
Time From | Start time of the parent teacher interview session. |
Time To | Finish time the parent teacher interview session. |
Slot Time Minutes | Number of minutes for each time slot in the session. Tip: You can define the default number of minutes using the TimeSlotMinutes configuration setting. See TimeSlotMinutes configuration setting. |
Description | Short description to distinguish each session within the cycle. For example, an afternoon session. |
Real Session | If selected, a real session is hosted. If not selected, then a session is not an actual session. For example, this might be used to record details of parents who exceeded the demand for the supplied interview slots in a real session. |
Community Portal Display area fields
Field | Description |

Display From | Date from which the parent teacher interview session is displayed on the Community Portal. Note: Parent teacher interview can be seen immediately when the Display From and Display To fields are left blank. |
Display To | Date to which the parent teacher interview session is displayed in the Community Portal. |
Show Open Date and Time | Select to display the opening date and time of the parent teacher interview booking period on the Community Portal. When this field is selected, the opening date and time is displayed above the parent teacher interview bookings grid on the Community Portal. |
Show Close Date and Time | Select to display the closing date and time of the parent teacher interview booking period on the Community Portal. When this field is selected, the closing date and time is displayed above the parent teacher interview bookings grid on the Community Portal. |
Show Teachers and Classes | Select to display the list of teachers on the Community Portal. When this field is selected, the list of teachers and their classes is displayed on the Community Portal. |
Show Interview Request Status | Select to display student parent teacher interview request statuses underneath class descriptions on the Community Portal. Important: You must select the Show Teachers and Classes field to use this field. When this field is selected, student parent teacher interview request statuses are displayed below the class description on the Community Portal. Note: You can select student parent teacher interview request statuses on the PTI tab of Results Maintenance. See Student Results Maintenance - PTI tab. |
Allow Cancellation Before Interview Time | Select to allow parent teacher interviews to be cancelled after the booking period has closed. When this field is selected, the Cancel link is displayed above each parent teacher interview booking on the Community Portal. |
