Sorting and ranking students (Standalone)

You can sort students and rank them according to their results on the All Students tab of Student Results Maintenance. See Student Results Maintenance - All Students.
You can sort by up to three columns. By default, the students are sorted in ascending order by their last name. Synergetic determines how to sort results as follows:

  • For numeric results, the sort is done by the numeric value.
  • For a result that has a drop-down list you can select either the:
  • highest result as the top of the list
  • lowest result as the bottom of the list.
  • If there is no drop-down list, the sort is done alphabetically.

When you sort students by their results rather than by their name, you create a ranking for each of the students within the class.

Note:
Storing a student's rank in a field is not available in the Standalone version of Synergetic. You must use the Networked version for this feature.

For an alternative method to rank students based on other assessment areas, see Adding a ranking formula to student results in the Assessments and reports manual.
