Events Maintenance - Web tab

You can use the Web tab to define the parameters for events that you want to display on your organisation's:

  • Community Portal
  • Events Portal.

You can select:

  • which events you want to display online
  • when the details about the event will appear online
  • whether dietary requirements are relevant
  • an email address for queries
  • online payment option.


 Opening the Web tab

To open the Web tab of the Event Maintenance window:

  1. Select Module > Development > Events Maintenance from the main menu.

    Tip:
    You can also access the development functions by clicking .

    The Set Events Search Criteria window is displayed.

  2. Select the event. See Searching for events.
    The Event tab of the Events Maintenance window is displayed.
  3. Click the Web tab.
    The Web tab of the Events Maintenance window is displayed.

Fields

Field

Description

Show in Community Portal

Select if you want the details of this event to be displayed on the Excursions tab of your organisation's Community Portal.

Show in Events Portal

Select if you want this event to be a public event displayed on your organisation's Events Portal.



Important:
You must have a staff member selected in the Staff 1 field when creating public events because attendees are added as guests of this staff member. See Events Maintenance - Organisers_Staff tab.


Note: For information about displaying payable events on your organisation's public event booking website, see Configuring event and excursion payments in Synergetic in the Online payments manual.

Dietary Requirements Relevant

Select if dietary requirements are relevant for the selected event. For example, if the event is a dinner.

When this field is selected the Dietary requirements fields are displayed on the Information tab of the public events booking website.

Publish Date From

Date the information is to appear from.

Publish Date To

Date after which the information is no longer required.

Return Email

Email address for queries.

Payment Option

Payment option for the event. For example, School play/ Semester 1.

Note:
To define Level 2 and Level 3 entries for this field see Online Payment Maintenance - Levels tab in the Synergetic Finance manual.

Merchant ID

Merchant identifier for financial transactions.

Note:
This field is automatically populated when a Payment option is selected.

External Reference

A free form external reference number for the event.

Terms and ConditionsSelect to include the terms and conditions defined on the Events Portal Terms sub-tab (see below) on the Events Portal for the selected event.

Community Portal Content

Used to define content displayed under the Comment field when users click on the Events tab of the Community Portal.

Note: The Comment field is not displayed when this the Community Portal Content sub-tab is blank.

Events Portal Web Page

Used to define content displayed to users on the Welcome page of the Events Portal.

Events Portal Terms

Used to define terms and conditions displayed on the Booking Details page of the Events Portal.

Important: You must use this icon to insert images.

To insert an image:

  1. Click .
    The Insert link to hosted image window is displayed.
  2. Either:

    • Enter an image hyperlink into the Enter the link to hosted image field to insert an online image
    • Click  to insert a image from your local hard drive.

  3. Click .

Used to insert a hyperlink.

To insert a hyperlink:

  1. Click .
    The Hyperlink window is displayed.
  2. Select the type of hyperlink using the Type drop-down list. You can select:

    • file:
    • ftp:
    • http:
    • https:
    • mailto:
    • news:
    • telnet:.

  3. Type the URL into the URL field.
  4. Click .

Used to insert tables.

To insert a table:

  1. Click .
    The Enter Table Rows and Columns window is displayed.
  2. Type the number of rows into the Rows field.
  3. Type the number of columns into the Columns field.
  4. Click .

Used to set up spell check options. See Spell check and spelling options.

Used to perform a spell check.

Used to display the Raw HTML Editor.

Used to refresh the Raw HTML Editor.

Note: This icon is only visible when the Raw HTML Editor is enabled.
