Description
The ConvertUnexplainedSignInToLateBeforeThisTime setting is used to set the time used to determine when an Unknown absence type is automatically set to Late, when using the Create Absence Event window. See Individual student absence events in the Attendance and absence events manual.
The time values are in either HH:MMam or HH:MMpm format where, HH is the hour in 12-hour format and the MM is the minutes component.
Depending on other settings at your organisation, this setting may not be required. For example, some organisations set the Absence Type so that it is mandatory to select a value. See luAbsenceType lookup table.
 

Default value
The default value is 12:00am (midnight). This effectively turns off this configuration setting.
 

Setting the time to an different value
You can set the time to an different time, depending on your organisation's policy. Update the Value field on the Configuration File Maintenance window. See Maintaining configuration files.
In the following example, the configuration time is set to 10:00am.

Before 10:00am any absence events with an Unknown absence type are automatically set to Late. In the following example, the Absence Type is automatically set to Late because the time is 9:30am.
