BeepWhenUnexplainedFlag

Description
The BeepWhenUnexplainedFlag setting is used to determine whether unexplained absence events are displayed in red and the user is beeped. This applies to the Second Screen when entering certain types of absence events.
Apart from this setting, you also need to ensure that the ? entry in the luAbsenceType lookup table either has:

  • a SynergyMeaning of Unknown

  • the Description field set to Unexplained if the SynergyMeaning is not set.

See luAbsenceType lookup table.

Default value
The default setting is True.

This highlights to administration staff any students who are signing in or out without a pre-arranged reason.

Setting a different value
You prefer not to highlight these on the second screen or beep the user.
Clear the Value field on the Configuration File Maintenance window to set the value to False. See Maintaining configuration files.
