Will Synergetic Cloud support Power BI integration? 

Yes, existing Power BI functionality is supported in Synergetic Cloud. This functionality relies on the direct database access option. The Power BI connector will be hosted on AWS as part of the solution. 

Do existing Crystal Reports need to be modified for Synergetic Cloud? 

No, existing Crystal Reports function as they do in the on-premise environment, including custom reports. All data objects in the school’s current database will be migrated to the new site, as will the contents of the “site folder” where customisations reside. Users will continue to be able to access the Site Folder to add custom files after migration. 

After migration, adding custom procedures to support reports requires the Direct Database Access option. Consulting through Technical Services is available as usual if you require assistance.  

Will Synergetic Cloud support MS Office integration? 

MS Office applications are installed on the Windows Client desktop. This means that features in Synergetic that require MS Office applications to be installed on the same desktop as the Synergetic client, will still operate as normal.  

Are Multiple Finance entities still handled? e.g., additional ABN’s 

Yes, Synergetic Cloud supports multiple finance entities and additional ABNs. Users who work across multiple finance schemas can have multiple instances of Synergetic open at one time, within a single browser tab for ease of use. AppStream provides easy switching between these and an ability to stretch the desktop across dual monitors. 

Are address validation and SMS still supported? 

QAS address validation is supported. RAT is not supported on Synergetic Cloud at this time.  

What Payment Gateways are supported? Will NAB, as our current payment gateway that is integrated with Synergetic, still be supported?

Will we have database access? 

Direct database access is available for approved purposes, subject to additional costs and agreement addendums. See EHG for details of terms and conditions  

Will select school staff still be able to access the database via MS SQL Management Studio or similar?  

  • MS SQL Management Studio does not upport the security protocols required for Synergetic Cloud. There are other tools available that allow schools to create and maintain database objects.
