You can use the General tab to:
- Enable Crystal Reports for the Community Portal.
- Configure SMTP email settings. See Customising email settings (on page ).
- Configure maintenance mode settings. See Customising maintenance messages (on page ).
Opening the General tab
To open the General tab:
- Launch the Community Portal in an internet browser.
- Log in as a portal administrator.
Tip: Admin user logins are separated by commas between the <AdminUserNames></AdminUserNames> tags in the XML configuration file. See Editing the SynCommPortal.xml configuration file (on page ).
Tip: You can also access the Admin Panel if you have been assigned the CommunityPortalAdminPanel security resource in Group/User Security Maintenance. See Group Security Maintenance - Groups View in the Synergetic System maintenance manual.
- Click Configuration in the Admin Panel.
The Main Menu Configuration Tool window is displayed.
- Click the General tab.
The General tab is displayed.

Maintenance settings area fields
Your IT administrator can enable Maintenance mode to limit access to the Community Portal during periods of system maintenance.
These fields are used to customise maintenance mode settings for the Community Portal at your organisation.

SMTP settings area fields
