Setting up tax invoices

When setting up tax invoices you need to take into account:

  • non-business unit related invoices
  • business unit related invoices
  • printing on customised stationery.

Non-business unit related invoices
On the Items/Invoicing tab in Finance Configuration Maintenance use the Last Invoice Number and Maximum Invoice Number fields to set the invoice number range for non-business unit related invoices. See Synergetic Financial Configuration - Items/Invoicing tab in the Finance manual.

Business unit related invoices

Note: The following rule applies to organisations that use business units.
The Sales system uses its own invoice number range that is not allowed to overlap with any other business units nor the normal invoice range. On the Invoicing sub-tab of Finance Configuration Maintenance set the Last Invoice Number and Maximum Invoice Number range (shown below). See Synergetic Financial Configuration - Business Units - Invoicing sub-tab in the Finance manual.

Printing on customised stationery

If your invoice stationery has been customised and saved as a different name then you will need to enter the suffix into the Invoice Stationery Suffix field. For example, if you saved the report as INVOICENGS then you need to enter NGS into the Invoice Stationery Suffix field.
