Viewing student results (coordinator)

The head of house, coordinator or authorised staff member can view the results for all classes for a selected student.

 Opening the View Student Results window

To open the View Student Results window:

  1. Select Module > Assessments > View Student Results.
    The Set Student Search Criteria window is displayed.
    Tip: You can also access the Set Student Search Criteria window by clicking .

  2. Search for the student. See Searching for existing students in the Current students manual.
  3. Select the student.
    The View Student Results window is displayed.

Fields

Field

Description

File Type

Results can be displayed for either academic or co-curricular classes.

Show Results

Toggle between displaying both the Results and Classes areas together and the Classes area only.

Line Height (Class grid)

Number of lines used to display either the:

  • individual class
  • result.

Adjust the line height to adjust the information shown in the Class grid area.

The example below shows a line height of 2. In this case, it enables the class description and the overall comments to be seen.


Tip: You can adjust the width of the columns so that you can see the information in each of the fields. To do this, mouse over the edge of the field heading until the cursor changes to  then drag the field heading in the desired direction.

Adjust the line height to adjust the information shown in the Class grid area.
The example below shows a line height of 5. In this case, it enables all of the details about each subject assessment area to be seen.

Field

Description

Type

File type of the class. This is either:

  • A (academic class)
  • one of several codes used at your organisation for co-curricular classes.

Class

Unique code for the class that the student is taking.

Description

Description of the class that the student is taking.

Staff

Staff member who usually takes the class.

Overall 1 /Overall 2

Calculated (special) fields that show the result of the assessment areas that are designated as:

  • Overall Seq is equal to 1 on the assessment area
  • Overall Seq is equal to 2 on the assessment area, respectively.
    In the following example, the overall results for the S/AC341 accounting class are shown for the student.

    The Overall Seq field is maintained on the Area sub-tab of Subject Assessment Maintenance. See Subject Assessment Maintenance - Area tab - Area sub-tab in the Synergetic Assessments and reports manual.

Overall Comment

Overall assessment comment entered against the student's class.


Results grid area fields

Field

Description

Heading

Assessment area heading.

Type

Assessment area result type.

Result

Result given to the student for this assessment area.

Classification

Result classification for this assessment area, if applicable.
These are entered in the Classification column on the Single Student tab of Student Results Maintenance. See Student Results Maintenance - Single Student tab.

Print

Used to indicate whether the result can print on reports.

Topic Comment

Comment added against the assessment area.


Buttons

Button

Description

Tag record for later use. This allows you to select an otherwise unrelated group of students. See Tagging community records for later use in the Introduction manual.

Preview the student's report for the selected class.

Launch the Student Results Maintenance window for the selected student and class.
See Student Results Maintenance - Single Student tab.

Launch the Class Maintenance window.
See Maintaining classes.

Keep the maintenance window open for the selected individual. This allows you to perform another search using the same maintenance function.
The individual's record remains in the background for later use. It can then be closed when done.

Launch the Set Student Results Search Criteria window.
