Updating a deferring future student's application (Next Year Process)

If a confirmed future student defers, update their application before the new academic year is created so that they are not transferred to current students.

Note:
If a confirmed future student defers after the new academic year has been created, you will need to remove them from the new
academic year manually and perform other steps. See Removing a confirmed future student who defers after the new year is created (Next Year Process) in the Curriculum or Next year process manual.

To defer a future student's application:

  1. Search for the student in Future Student Maintenance. See Searching for future students in the Future students manual.
    The Personal tab of the Future Student Maintenance window is displayed.
  2. Click the Applications tab.
    The Applications tab of the Future Student Maintenance window is displayed. See Future Student Maintenance - Applications tab in the Future students manual.
  3. Click .
    The Modify Future Student Application window is displayed.
  4. Select Cancelled from the Status drop-down list. See Modifying future student enrolment applications in the Future students manual.
  5. Click .
    The Applications tab of the Future Student Maintenance window is displayed. 
  6. Create a new enrolment application, according to your organisation's policy for deferred applications. For example, you might:
    • set the Application Date to the application date of the original application
    • add a Comment that the application is deferred
    • select the Review field for further follow up.
