Use the Timetable bar to display the student's timetable, and study periods they have signed into and special events for the specified date.

 Opening the Timetable bar

To open the Timetable bar:

  1. Select Students > Student Maintenance from the SynWeb main menu.
    The Set Current Search Criteria window is displayed.
  2. Search for the student. See Searching for students.
    The first student's record is displayed on the Current Student Maintenance window. One bar is expanded depending on your last session or earlier selection.
  3. Scroll down to the Timetable bar, if required.
  4. Click the Timetable bar.

    Tip
    : You can click anywhere on the bar to open it.

Selection area
The selection area consists of fields used to determine which timetable is displayed.

Fields

Field

Description

File Type

Classes can be either academic or co-curricular.
Change the file type selection to view classes in other areas.
 

Note: Contact the system administrator if you do not have a blank file type in the drop-down list.

Timetable Date

Timetable date.
 

Note: The default date is today's date. Adjust the date if necessary.
 

Tip: To select a different date, click the button next to the Timetable Date field, select the new date on the calendar, then click .

Current Day

Timetable cycle day.

Start Date

Start date for the current timetable cycle.


Timetable grid area
The grid area consists of:

  • key fields for the student's timetable entries for the selected date
  • launch links to Class Maintenance
  • a legend that provides additional information about the status of the class.

Lists the timetable of classes for the file type and date specified.

Field

Time

Scheduled start time.

Period

Description for the period of time.

Room

Room code where the class is taking place.

Class

Class code.

Description

Description of the class.

Staff

Staff code.

Pastoral

Click to enter Pastoral Care Maintenance for the selected class.

Launch links

Link

Description

Class

Launch into Class Maintenance for the selected class.
Click on the Class launch link.

Note: You can click on Period, Room, Description or Staff.


Legend

The Legend area contains an explanation for the formatting applied to each of the classes displayed in the grid area. Only the relevant legend entries are displayed, depending on the status of the classes.

Colour and font

Description

Blue, normal font

Class containing students.
In the following example, Dr Gregg is taking the Medical Science class S/SCEM5.

Grey, normal font

Periods which do not require attendance entry. For example, recess and lunch.

Search Filter

The Search Filter field is located at the top of the Student Selector. This field can be used to filter students by any of the information displayed in the Student Selector.
For example to filter students by name simply type either the student's:

  • last name
  • first name
  • last name then first name separated by a comma.
    To filter students by year level simply type the student's year level in the Search Filter field.

Display the Current Student Maintenance Search Criteria window.
You can update the search criteria and search for new students. See Searching for students.

Click to refresh information for the selected student.
