Add a development activity to track appeals against a prospective donor.
Opening the New Activity window
To open the New Activity window:
- Open the Activity sub-tab in Development Maintenance for the appeal. See Development Maintenance - Prospect Tracking - Activity sub-tab (on page ).
The Activity sub-tab of the Development Maintenance window is displayed. - Click .
The New Activity window is displayed.
New Activity window key fields
Field | Description |
---|
Date | Date the activity is being undertaken. |
Primary Only | Whether the activity applies to the primary contact only. The default is to include the spouse in all activities and communications. Select for the activity to apply to the primary contact only. |
Appeal | Appeal that the activity is being made in response to. See What is an appeal? (on page ) |
Activity | Type of activity, including whether they have donated or need reminding. For example: - Phoned
- Mailed
- Donated
- Donation Reminder.

Status | Status of the activity. For example: - In progress
- Completed
- On hold.

Follow Up | Whether to follow up with the prospective donor or not. For example, the Prospect Follow-up List on the Crystal Reports menu excludes activities if this field is not selected. Clear the flag if a follow up is not required on the Follow Up Date. |
Follow Up Date | Date to follow up with the prospective donor. For example, the Prospect Follow up List on the Crystal Reports menu allows you to select those marked for follow up within a certain date range. |
Comment | Description of the activity. |
Prospector | Person communicating with the prospective donor. When adding an activity, select your name from the drop-down list. The drop-down list includes members of one of the prospect tracking constituencies: - Community members (DVPTV). See Maintaining community members in the Community manual.
- Staff members(DVPTS). See Maintaining staff members in the HR manual.
