Loading new tax rates

New payroll tax rates are loaded to coincide with changes in the payroll tax regime. For example, tax files are loaded at the start of the financial year when the Government applies tax rate changes. Synergetic Management Systems will email you an encrypted file containing the new rates that you can upload into Synergetic. Other data may be updated as well, such as HECS-HELP, depending on your jurisdiction. For information about loading the latest:

• New Zealand tax rates. See NZ - Payroll Tax Tables 2024/2025.

Load the tax file before the first pay run when the new rates apply.

Note: Synergetic can only use one set of tax rates at any one time.

To load tax rates:

1. Select Module > Payroll > Load Tax Rates....
   The Load Payroll Tax Rates window is displayed.
   
2. Browse for the location of the text file containing the updated tax rates.
   
   Note: The location will be where you saved the file after receiving the email from Synergetic Management Systems.
   
   
3. Click .
   The following dialog window is displayed.
   
4. Click .
   The tax rates are imported into Synergetic and the following dialog window is displayed.
   
   
   Note: The STP 2 solution introduced a security check to the upload. Synergetic displays the following error message if the upload file fails the check.
   
   
   
5. Click .
