Current Student Maintenance - Demographic tab - Parent 1 sub-tab

Use the Parent 1 sub-tab of the Demographic tab to update information about a primary parent for demographic requirements.

 Opening the Parent 1 sub-tab

To open the Parent 1 sub-tab of the Demographic tab:

  1. Select Module > Students > Current Student Maintenance from the main menu.
    The Set Current Student Search Criteria window is displayed.

    Tip: You can also access the current student functions by clicking .

  2. Search for the student. See Searching for existing students in the Current students manual.
  3. Click the Demographic tab.
    The Student sub-tab of the Demographic tab of the Current Student Maintenance window is displayed.
  4. Click the Parent 1 sub-tab.
    The Parent 1 sub-tab of the Demographic tab of the Current Student Maintenance window is displayed.

    Note: The Parent 1 and Parent 2 sub-tabs have identical fields. Enter the values for each parent.

Fields

Field

Description

ID

Synergetic ID of the parent displayed.

Name

Parent's name in the format last name, first name.

Address

Parent's address.

To update the address:

  1. Click to launch into Community Maintenance for the parent.
  2. Update the address on the Home Address tab. See the Community Maintenance - Home Address tab in the Community manual.

Note: Silent Address is displayed in the Address field of the Demographic tab if the Silent Address field is selected on the Home Address tab of Community Maintenance.

Highest Secondary Year Level

Highest secondary level that the parent has attended. By default, the demographic export converts this to the appropriate demographic level for the corresponding year level. See the Import/Export Student Data - Demographic tab in the Current students manual.

Some organisations may have entered the demographic level instead. If this is the case for your organisation, you can set the ParentYearLevelNoConvert configuration setting so that the demographic levels are used from the data entered in this field. See the ParentYearLevelNoConvert configuration setting in the System maintenance manual.

Highest Qualification Level

Highest qualification level that the parent is currently holding.

Note: The values for this field are derived from the luQualificationLevel lookup table values for the MCEETYA external system type. See Loading lookup tables for external systems in the System maintenance manual.

Occupation Position

Occupation or position that the parent is currently holding.

Note: The values for this field are derived from the luOccupationPosition lookup table values for the MCEETYA external system type. See Loading lookup tables for external systems in the System maintenance manual.

Home Language

Main language other than English. This field can also be updated on the Other tab of Community Maintenance, for the current community member. See the Current Student Maintenance - Personal tab.
