ContactMinutes

Description
The ContactMinutes setting is used to set the duration of a standard school day in minutes. This is used in absence events calculations to determine the proportion of the day that a student has been absent. See Attendance and absence events in the Attendance and absence events manual.

Default value
The default value is blank.

Setting the value
Type the new value into the Value field on the Configuration File Maintenance window. See Maintaining configuration files.

In this example the raw Absence Factor of a student is calculated as a percentage of 360. For example, if a student is absent for 126 minutes of the day their Absence Factor is 126 divided by 360, which is 0.35.
Note: Raw Absence Factors can be rounded for roll returns purposes using the ContactMinutesUpper configuration setting and ContactMinutesLower configuration setting.
