Defining school assemblies using room availability

You can prevent the scheduling of specialist subjects during an assembly, by setting the availability of:

  • Specialist rooms, as described below.
  • Specialist teachers. See Defining school assemblies using teacher availability (on page ).

In the following example, a whole-school assembly occurs on Monday, first period. To achieve this, the D1/TP1 cell's availability is set to N for all specialist teachers and rooms.

To define school assemblies using specialist room availability:

  1. Select Basic Data > Rooms from the main menu.

    The Rooms window is displayed with rooms added earlier.
  2. Select a specialist room.
  3. Select the cell for the required day and time period for the assembly, in the Available Times area.
    In this example, the D1/TP1 cell; that is, Monday first period.
  4. Click .
    The room's availability is set to N for the selected cell.
  5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 for each specialist room.
  6. Click .
  7. Click .
  8. Set the availability of the specialist teachers, if not already done. See Defining school assemblies using teacher availability (on page ).
