This section outlines changes to the Roll returns manual arising from changes made to Synergetic (versions 68-69).

Note: The look and feel of Synergetic depends on the PC it is running on. The screenshots in this manual use both the version 66 and pre-66 look and feel. You may notice a slight difference in appearance between this manual and Synergetic running at your organisation but the functionality is exactly the same.

Roll count dates have been set for 2019.

Roll count dates have been set to:

  • 1st March 2019
  • 1st July 2019.

State and State integrated schools (excluding partnership schools) with students in Year 9 and above have additional roll count dates set to:

  • 30th May 2019
  • 2nd September 2019.

Roll returns process

Roll return process has been updated.Roll returns are now approved and submitted at the same time. Additionally, this step is now performed by the Approver instead of the Preparer.
New Action Centre reminder messages.New Action Centre reminder messages are sent to your school administrator during the roll return period. These messages are sent daily until the roll return is submitted.
MOE tab updated.

You can now view relevant information about the roll return submission in a single area at the top of the MOE tab.

Additionally, the following fields and buttons have been added or updated:

  • Generation Date
  • Roll Return Type
  • Approval Status.

The following fields have been updated:

  • Total Errors field renamed Validation Errors
  • Total Warnings field renamed Validation Warnings

Import/Export Student Data - MOE tab
Roll return reports updated.

Roll return reports generated using the MOE tab of the Import/Export Student Data window have been updated.

  • Report 4: Roll by Age and FYL now has a combined count for four and five year olds.
  • Report 5: Roll by Age and Ethnic Group now has a combined count for four and five year olds.

Roll return reports added.

New roll return reports have been added to the list of reports generated using the MOE tab of the Import/Export Student Data window. These reports are identical to Reports 5 and 6 except that all ethnicities recorded in the IWI 1 to 3 fields on the NZMOE tab of Current Student Maintenance are counted rather than only the IWI 1 field value.

  • Report 5a: Roll by Age and Ethnic Group - Total Response
  • Report 6a: Roll by FYL and Ethnic Group - Total Response.

Roll return errors and warnings
New students must have Indigenous groups (Iwi affiliations) from the updated list.

You must ensure that you use current Indigenous groups (Iwi affiliations) for new students. Here is a summary of the changes:

  • 18 New Zealand Switzerland Exchange
