Study periods are periods during the day where students may not be assigned to a specific class, but attend a supervised study session. Students must be signed into these sessions by a teacher.

To open the Study Period Teacher Login window:

  1. Select Students > Study Period Maintenance from the SynWeb main menu.
    The Study Period Teacher Login window is displayed.

Study Period Teacher Login window key fields and buttons

Fields

Field

Description

Year & Sem

Filter the timetable by year and semester.

Staff Code

Select the staff member to maintain the study period as.

Room

Select the room in which the study period occurs.
 

Note: You must select a room to sign students in for a study period.

Grid area fields

Time

Time the period begins.

Period

Number of the period.

Class

Code of any class scheduled for that teacher in that period.

Description

Description of any class scheduled for that teacher in that period.

Sign In

Click the link to launch Study Period Student Login to sign students in for this period. See Using the Study Period Student Login window

Note: Study periods are identified by the teacher, time and room. You can reopen an existing study period by selecting the same Room, Staff Code and Period.

Admin

Click the link to launch Study Period Admin for this period. See Using the Study Period Admin window

(on page )

Note: The Admin link is only displayed for study periods that have ended and had students signed in.
