To open the Notifications bar:

  1. Select Students > Excursion Maintenance from the SynWeb main menu.
    The Set Excursion Search Criteria window is displayed.
  2. Search for excursions. See Searching for excursions.
  3. Click the Notifications bar.

    Tip:
     You can click anywhere on a navigation bar other than the caption to open it.

Send Announcement Notification

Select to send a notification to all records in the grid area of the Attendees bar. See Excursion Maintenance - Attendees bar.
 

Note: If the attendee is a current or future student the notification is sent to the primary contact instead.

Send Consent Reminders

Select to send a consent reminder to all records in the grid area of the Attendees bar that are not marked as either:

  • attending
  • apology.

Send Reminder to Attendees

Select to send a reminder notification to all records in the grid area of the Attendees bar that are marked as attending. See Excursion Maintenance - Attendees bar.

Notification Text

Text to include in the notification.
 

Note: This field is only displayed if one of the notification flags is selected.

How

Select to send the notification by either Email or SMS.

Once the process is complete you will see a summary window listing:

  • Total number of generated notifications
  • Number of notifications successfully sent
  • Number of notifications that failed to send.

Additionally, details of the last message sent are updated and displayed alongside the relevant notification.

Common fields

Search Filter

The Search Filter field is located at the top of the Excursion Selector. This field can be used to filter excursions by any of the information displayed in the Excursion Selector.
For example, type ski to only view excursions with the word ski in the excursion code or description.
