Use the Commission Rules tab to:
- display agents who are set up
- set commission rules for individual agents
- set the percentage commission rates that apply when a certain number of students are enrolled in the course by the selected agent.
Opening the Commission Rules tab
To open the Commission Rules tab of the Course Agent Maintenance window:
- Select Module > Students > Course Agent Maintenance.
The Commission Control tab of the Course Agent Maintenance window is displayed. - Click the Commission Rules tab.

Grid area fields
Field | Description |

Agent Name | Agents who receive a commission for organising students to enrol in courses being given by your organisation. Select the agent, then you can: - add, delete and maintain rules that apply to the agent
- update the agent's commission schedule and invoices
- launch into Creditor Maintenance for the agent.
Agents are displayed if they are creditors with a Category of Agent. This is set on the Account tab of Creditor Maintenance. See Creditor Maintenance - Account tab in the Creditors manual. Note: The Agent or similar category must have a SynergyMeaning of Agent.

Rule | Rule control entry used for the rule. Select the rule control entries from the drop-down list. Tip: If you use unique letters for the Rule Control Codes you can press the letter on the keyboard and then press the Tab key to select the record, as shown in the example above. Rule control entries are maintained on the Commission Control tab. See Course Agent Maintenance - Commission Control tab (on page ). |
From | Threshold used to determine the number of students to be enrolled by the agent before the Rate applies. Additional rules can be used to add higher thresholds with different rates. That is, the greater the success of the agent the better the rate. Note: It is assumed that the agent is not entitled to a commission if they have not enrolled anyone in the course. In the following example, the: - first rule specifies that a 5% rate applies for 1 to 2 students enrolled by the agent in the course
- second rule specifies that a 10% rate applies for 3 or more students enrolled by the agent in the course.
