Searching for learning areas

When you first start Learning Area Maintenance, the Set Learning Area Search Criteria window is displayed. You can search for existing learning areas or add a new learning area from this window.

To search for a course:

  1. Select Curriculum > Learning Area Maintenance from the SynWeb main menu.
    The Set Learning Area Search Criteria window is displayed.
  2. Enter your search criteria into the fields.
  3. Click .

    Note:
    At any stage you can change your selections. To do this, click
    and then make your new selections.


    Tip:
    Fields that have a drop-down list to choose from, such as Campus, are case sensitive and depend on how they have been set up in the database lookup tables. We recommend that you always select these fields from the drop-down list.

    The first search result is displayed. 
  4. Click on the course links on the left to navigate to other learning areas.
  5. View the learning area details. See Maintaining learning areas.

Learning Area Code

Code for the learning area.

Description of the learning area.

Search for a learning area based on the search criteria you have entered.

Clear the search criteria and start a new search.


Launch the Create New Learning Area window to add a new learning area to the database. Enter the details for the course and click .
