Use the Alerts tab to add time-based alerts that are displayed when the student is selected in

  • Absence Events Maintenance
  • Student Maintenance
  • Student Results Maintenance.

The alert is only displayed during the period entered on the Alerts tab.
In the following example Amanda Adamski has had an alert added because she is away due to surgery. The alert is only displayed during the period entered.


Note: The alert is displayed each time the student is selected. If the Do not show alert again this session field is selected, the alert does not display again until Student Maintenance is closed or, in the case of Student Results Maintenance, the student is selected in a different class.

 Opening the Alerts tab

To open the Alerts tab:

  1. Select Module > Students > Current Student Maintenance from the main menu.
    The Set Current Student Search Criteria window is displayed.
    Tip: You can also access the current student functions by clicking .
  2. Search for the student. See Searching for existing students in the Current students manual.
  3. Click the Alerts tab.
    The Alerts tab of the Current Student Maintenance window is displayed.

The grid area fields correspond to the fields for the selected record.
Fields

Field

Category

Category used at your organisation for this type of alert.

From Date

Date from which the alert is displayed.

To Date

Date from which the alert is no longer displayed,

Message

Message displayed on the Alerts dialog window.

Include All Alerts

Deselect to only show current alerts.

Grid area fields

Field

Description

Category Code

Category used at your organisation for this type of alert.

Description

Description of the alert.

Message

Message displayed on the Alerts dialog window.

Date From

Date from which the alert is displayed.

Date To

Date from which the alert is no longer displayed.

Created Date

Date the alert was created.

Created By

Community member that created the alert.

Modified Date

Date the alert was last modified.

Modified By

Community member that last modified the alert.

Buttons

Button

Description

Inserts a new row in the grid area. Update the corresponding fields in the area below, as shown in the example.

Delete the selected row.
In the example below, the Confirm dialog window is displayed for the selected alert.

Click to confirm the deletion.
