You can change the size of a label in Crystal Reports in two different ways. You can either alter the:

  • page margins around all of the labels on the page
  • actual label size and the gap between each label.

Tip: Make a copy of the report and save it into the Synergetic > Reports > Site folder with a different name before changing the dimensions unless you want to permanently override the dimensions of the standard report. See Creating new Crystal Reports for information about setting up a new report from the copy.
Changing the size of each label
To change the size of each label, including the gaps between each label:

  1. Call up the Crystal Report in design mode using the Crystal Reports Designer.
  2. Right click on the Details Heading (under the Design tab).
  3. Select Section: Expert.
  4. Click on the Details section.
  5. Click on the Layout tab.
You can change the size of each label and the gap between each label.

Note: You can also change the direction of printing each label. That is, down then across or across then down.
Changing the margins of all labels
To change the outside margins around all of the labels on a page:

  1. Select File from the main menu.
  2. Select Page Setup.
  3. Alter the top, left, bottom and right margins of the page as required.

Note: This is the method for changing page margins on a normal report.
Synergetic standard label dimensions
Synergetic's Standard 2*8 label dimensions and dimensions for an alternative 3*10 label are as follows:
Note: Once you have applied the standard sizes you can adjust the measurements for the specific labels at your organisation.
