Note: Sections are the level one subject class categories of Music Maintenance. See the luSubjectClassCategory lookup table (on page ).

To create sections:

1. Select Curriculum > Music Maintenance from the SynWeb main menu.
   
   Note: The title of the Co-Curricular Maintenance menu item is determined by the MenuText field in the luFileTypeProgram lookup table. See the luFileTypeProgram lookup table (on page ).
   
   The Set Section Search Criteria window is displayed.
   
   
   Note: The windows in Music Maintenance use the words Section and Instrument. This text is set using the SubjectClassCategoryLevel fields on the luFileTypeProgram lookup table. See the luFileTypeProgram lookup table (on page ).
    
2. Click Image Removed Image Added .
   The Create New Section window is displayed.
   
   Tip: You can also display the Create New Section window by clicking Image Removed Image Added in the SynWeb toolbar.
    
3. Select a Campus.
4. Type a Code for the section. For example, Brass.
5. Type a Description for the section. For example, Brass section.
6. Select a music learning area from the Music drop-down list. See Creating co-curricular learning areas (on page ).

   Note: The title of this field is determined by the LearningAreaOverride field. See the luFileTypeProgram lookup table (on page ) in the Synergetic System maintenance manual..
    
7. Select a Staff Member to oversee the section.

8. Click Image Removed Image Added .
   The section is displayed in the Section Selector.
   
9. Repeat steps 2 through 8 to create additional sections.
